Who I am
My name is Hua Sands. I was born and grew up in Dalian, China and came to Edinburgh, initially to study, in 1998, where I met my husband, Richard Sands. We now live in Suffolk and have one daughter, who is currently five years old.
I am qualified to Masters level in Physiotherapy and Health Psychology in the UK, and I have worked as a senior physiotherapist in the NHS. I was trained in acupuncture originally in China, where I also studied clinical medicine and worked in hospitals for five years. I have also undertaken additional acupuncture training in the UK.
I believe I have a unique approach to helping you relieve your pain:
- I provide genuine Chinese acupuncture – my training in China enables me to provide you with safe and highly effective acupuncture.
- I use two approaches combined – acupuncture helps relieve your pain quickly, while physiotherapy helps you to healthy joints to prevent pain recurring.
- I have personal as well as professional experience of treating pain – having applied my skill to help myself recover from multiple trauma following a serious car accident to return to normal mobility with no pain, I understand what it takes to overcome joint pain at an emotional as well as a physical level.
- My personal values – I treat you in my heart, I develop a rapport with my patients that helps them relax, and I aim to provide benefit for you in the long term as well as the short term.
The clinic is based in Lavenham, Suffolk, UK within easy reach of places such as Long Melford, Sudbury, Stowmarket and Bury St. Edmunds.
The clinic is specifically fitted out to provide a high level of physiotherapy and acupuncture service, with advanced equipment in a clean, welcoming and relaxing environment. There is plenty of car parking on site and the clinic is situated on the ground floor with a pedestrian access ramp.
